1846: School Established on Dry Ridge Road 1860: Property aquired next to the school - used to construct a church. This new church cost a total of $5,000. The name of "St. John the Baptist" was chosen for the church by Henry Kleine. September 2, 1860: The Church's cornerstone was blessed. January 1863: Rev. Jacob Rossweg was the first pastor of the new Church. He served until May 1863. November 22, 1866: Rev. G. Egger was appointed the first resident pastor. May 8, 1873: Father Francis C.J. Voet became the new pastor. He served for 28 years. April 1901: Father Clement Beckmeyer became the parish's first pastorate. 1905: Father John H. Schwartz became pastor. He started construction on the 3rd school. 1906: Father Schwartz put up a two-story frame school building and Sister's house. 1912: Parish was out of debt! June 30, 1912: Father Charles Wirtz became pastorate. November 1914: The old Church building was demolished. A temporary chapel was set up on the first floor of the school building. May 16, 1922: The school and sisters' house burned to the ground around 4:30pm. August 17, 1922: Ground was broken for a new school. 1924: Established a 2-year high school. Had a total of 5 classrooms to accomodate all 8 grades and 2 years of high school. September 16, 1924: New school and convent were dedicated. 1946: Father Francis Siefert procured the large cross facing Dry Ridge Road in the cemetery. 1947: Parish quadrupled in size - from 100 families to 400 families. June 10, 1947: Father George F. Kuntz became pastor. 1955: High school programs were discontinued due to increasing enrollment for grade school. 1963: Father William Huesman was appointed pastor. 1964: School added 11 classrooms. 1967: The altar in the Church was turned to face the people. 1979: Father Carl Wollering was appointed pastor. 1982: Broundbreaking on the new Parish Center. 1983: Father Charles Bowes became pastor. 1985: The new Parish Center was dedicated. It was used for physical education classes, sports, school programs, and 11am Sunday Mass. 1995: The new Church was anticipated to cost $3.4 million.
March 4, 1995: The final Mass in the Church built in 1915 was celebrated at 5:30pm. March 23, 1997: Dedication of the new Church. 1998: Father Tim Kallaher became the new pastor of the new Parish. 2005: The 1863 & 1916 bells were raised and a new bell was added in the bell tower. 2008: The school became the official Catholic school for the St. John the Baptist, St. John Neumann, and Corpus Christi parishes. 2010: St. John's celebrates 150th Anniversary. 2018: Fr. Peter St. George becomes pastor.
