Holy Thursday evening is the last Mass before the Easter Vigil and the great memorial of Jesus’ institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper. The Mass includes the ceremonial washing of the feet in imitation of Christ’s humble service to the Apostles. After Mass, the Eucharist is carried in procession to a separate resting place in the Chapel.

Good Friday afternoon is the celebration of the Lord’s Passion. The sanctuary has been stripped of all decoration—no flowers, candles,
 or altar linens. The service includes the Gospel of the Passion,
 individual adoration of the Cross, and solemn intercessions for the needs of the people of the world, and for our salvation. All leave in silence, with feelings of loss and deep sorrow, and profound gratitude for the sacrifice our Lord has made for us.

Holy Saturday morning, there is again no Mass. The Church offers Morning Prayer, a service of psalms and readings. In this service, we can feel and become part of the confusion, the sense of loss, and the loneliness that our Blessed Mother and the Apostles felt following our Lord’s crucifixion, as they waited and prayed together, unsure of what was to become of them and all their dreams.

If Northwest Local Schools delay or cancel school due to bad weather on a Monday, Mass will be held as normal at St. John the Baptist.

If Northwest Local Schools delay or cancel school due to bad weather on a Tuesday or Thursday, we will cancel daily Mass for that day at Corpus Christi Church. Masses will be held as scheduled at St. John the Baptist.

If Northwest Local Schools delay or cancel school due to bad weather on a Wednesday or Friday, Masses will be held as normal at St. John the Baptist and St. John Neumann
