Confirmation is the last of the Sacraments of Christian Initiation. It “confirms” our baptism, makes us more complete in the image of Jesus, and fills us with the Holy Spirit. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, we are given gifts, and grace, to bear witness to Christ in the world, and also to build up the Church (the Body of Christ) in our world.
“By the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”
Adults prepare for this Sacrament through the RCIA process.
Confirmation is celebrated annually for students in the seventh/eighth grade. Together as a Family of Parishes, students who belong to Corpus Christi, St. John Neumann, and St. John the Baptist gather downtown at Cathedral Basilica of Saint Peter in Chains to be ingited with the fire of the Holy Spirit!
Blessed Trinity Family of Parishes has made the decision to Confirm students in the 7th grade instead of 8th grade. To make this transition, 2023 - 2024 Confirmation formation will be for both 7th and 8th graders. St. John the Baptist School students will continue to receive their formation during in-school religion class. The preparation program below is intended for all parish youth who do not attend St. John the Baptist School. Follow the link below for more information about the 2023-24 Confimration Classes.
