Eucharistic revival book study at SJB (May-june 2023)
The bishops of the United States have called for a “Eucharistic revival.” As part of that effort, we are pleased to offer a book study on Brant Pitre’s “Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist.” Please call the parish office to sign up or register here: https://forms.gle/YC8xevk7uFKvBYU3A Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist shines fresh light on the Last Supper by looking at it through Jewish eyes. Using his in-depth knowledge of the Bible and ancient Judaism, Dr. Brant Pitre answers questions such as: What was the Passover like at the time of Jesus? What were the Jewish hopes for the Messiah? What was Jesus’ purpose in instituting the Eucharist during the feast of Passover? And, most important of all, what did Jesus mean when he said, “This is my body… This is my blood”? All materials for the study (including a copy of Brant Pitre’s book) will be provided at no charge.
Meetings will begin Saturday, May 13 at 7:30am at St. John the Baptist in the Gathering Space. We will continue every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month until we finish the book. We hope you will join us to learn more about the incredible gift of the Eucharist!
